Lautaro has made his way to Scone in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, making the trip early on Wednesday morning.

The five year-old gelding will contest the Kia Ora Stud Benchmark 78 (2200m)on Saturday afternoon, as part of the annual two-day Scone Carnival which gets underway on Friday.

Drawn in barrier five, trainer Andrew Dale has elected to go with apprentice jockey Andrew Adkins claiming two kilograms off the original 55.5kgs allocated.

Dale believes the drop in class from the Wagga Cup back to restricted benchmark 78 grade will give Lautaro the best chance of preforming.

Little Red Devil produced another strong outing at Wangaratta on Tuesday afternoon ridden by apprentice Chelsea McFarlane. The step up to 2000m looks ideal when racing returns to Wodonga on May 20.

Veteran galloper Shelbyville is preparing to run at Corowa on Friday, May 12. Dale has applied the blinkers to Shelbyville in order to spark the 10-year-old gelding into form.
