Albury trainer Andrew Dale is eyeing a return to the races with talented stayer Lautaro.

The six year-old gelding has enjoyed plenty of success after arriving in Australia in early 2015, winning five races and netting over $140,000 in stakes money from his 22 starts under Dale.

“He’s progressing well in preparation for his comeback to the races,” Dale said.

“We have identified a 1400m race in early June at Wagga that looks suitable so all going well he’ll kick-off there.

“He will trial twice before so he should be ready to go first up.”

Lautaro has been successful over the 1400m before, taking out the 2017 SDRA Country Championships Qualifier at Wagga first up last campaign.

Meanwhile Arthur Porrit will line-up for Dale at Wagga in the 1600m Class 1 and Maiden Handicap on April 24 and French Politician and Biding Time are set for races on Anzac Day at Deniliquin.
