It’s A Fireball was a dominant winner today at Narrandera breaking the track record by 0.75 of a second in the Class 2 – 1200m Handicap.
Andrew Dale’s recent purchase clocked in at 1.09.25 to break Money Road’s 1200m time of 1.10.00 set in 1994.
It’s A Fireball was heavily supported in betting from $19 into $8.50 coming off a solid trial at Albury on July 9.
“We came here today with confidence off the back of that trial,” jockey Jake Duffy said.
“He’s a horse that’s going to be suited over 1400m in future where he can roll along in front, control the race and sprint away.
“I am pleased for the owners who showed faith with him because we always knew he had the ability.”
