The Andrew Dale trained Muwarrad scored in prolific fashion at Wangaratta on Saturday claiming the 0-58 Handicap (1300m).

Entering Race 6 as a $21 chance in the betting, Muwarrad defied the long odds to score by three quarters of a length.

It was a terrific ride from Jason Benbow who guided the five-year-old gelding to the second win of his career.

“Pleasing win today, he drew barrier one, giving us a lovely run three back the fence,” Benbow said.

“Once he got clear galloping room he sprinted to the line and won very well.”

It was Muwarrad’s first win for the stable after a couple of minor placings following his arrival in October.
