Two years ago, Alison White started her dream job when she was given a start in the racing industry as a stable hand with Andrew Dale Racing.

The passionate horse lover has recently completed a Certificate II in Equine Studies, and will soon begin her third year working for the ADR stable.

“I was always very passionate about horses and horse racing, wanting to be a jockey when I grew up,” Alison said.

“I completed an equine course to acquire more knowledge of horses and the industries associated with horses.”

Alison said she gained plenty from her TAFE course and has learnt even more during her time working with trainer Andrew Dale and the rest of his team.

She plans to continue working for the stable and hopes to fulfil some of her other goals in the not too distant future.

“If I can’t become a jockey I would like to become a trackwork rider and strapper, but at the moment I’m just enjoying working with the horses as they help me cope with life.”
