Trainer Andrew Dale is likely to back-up his in-form mare Fromista for a third week in-a-row at Albury on Saturday.
Fromista is relishing racing on the quick back-up after notching victories over the past two Saturdays at Corowa and again at Wagga last weekend.
The seven-year-old mare is set to target a hat-trick of wins in the $5000 Open Trophy Hcp, (1600m) at the picnic meeting at Albury on Saturday.
In a rare occurrence outside the Albury carnival, the Albury Racing Club is set to race on back-to-back days with a TAB meeting Friday and a picnic meeting the following day.
Racing manager Frazer Dale praised jockey Brad Vale for a perfect ride aboard Fromista ($5.50) in the $15,000 Class Two Hcp, (1600m) at Wagga over the weekend.
“It was a great win and I take my hat off to Brad who rode her perfectly,” Dale said.
“She drew well and settled in a great spot midfield and fought off a late challenge from Weja to win narrowly.
“She has pulled-up really well and with Albury hosting a picnic meeting on Saturday she will more than likely race again over a mile.
“We will keep an eye on her during the week but she is fit, happy and racing well so that’s the plan at this stage.”
The stable is set to heavily target both days of racing at Albury with 15 nominations for the seven race card on Friday.
In a busy couple of days they also have 11 entries across the six races the following day.
Crowds are still prevented from attending NSW meetings.
