Andrew Dale Racing will have six runners in action on Wodonga Gold Cup day.

Parabellum, Kiss The Bride, Brenlyn’s Trooper, Copperfield, Brenlyn’s Daisy and Sheila will all saddle up for Racing Wodonga’s premier day of the year.

While all horses will be stepping up in grade, a softer track will no doubt give all gallopers a chance.

“We’ve picked a team for Wodonga that we know can handle a softer track,” Dale said.

“There’s been a fair bit of rain over the last few days and we were probably hoping for more on the day but that’s changed.

“The track will still be wet though and you look at Sheila, Brenlyn’s Trooper, Copperfield and Kiss The Bride’s soft track record and they’re all very good.”

Brenlyn’s Daisy’s been given the most hope by bookies, sitting around the $6.50 mark in race eight’s benchmark 64 (1100m).

Sheila ($19) will also feature alongside Brenlyn’s Daisy with her soft track form solid at two wins and five placings from 11 starts, while Copperfield ($15) will make it three in that same race and he too enjoys a soft track having been in the money eight times from 12 goes.

“Daisy’s drawn nicely which is a nice change because she hasn’t had much luck recently,” Dale said.

“We then have Sheila and Copperfield in that same race who both enjoy softer ground so we think they come into the race a little bit more.”

After a last start second place at Albury, Brenlyn’s Trooper has been installed as a $9 each-way chance in race seven’s benchmark 70 (1300m).

“Trooper’s been in solid form recently but he steps up in grade,” Dale said.

“I think he’s a good outside chance, he’s drawn well (gate six) and has won on soft ground.”

Parabellum ($31) will tackle race four’s Ollie Cox Memorial (2050m), while Kiss The Bride ($11) is an each-way chance in race five’s benchmark 58 (1590m) and has won four times on soft ground.
