Copperfield is once again looking to add more silverware to his CV, targeting the Deniliquin Anzac Day Cup.

After successful assaults on the Adelong, Ardlethan and Towong Cups this preparation, he’s now the top weight for today’s race where he has been assigned 64kg with Jake Duffy to ride from gate three.

The son of Per Incanto finished five lengths back last outing in a benchmark 64 at Benalla but looks one of the main threats back at non-TAB level.

“He’s had a long campaign but that has been broken up with let-ups and breaks out at the farm,” Andrew Dale said.

“He’s chasing his fourth piece of silverware after wins in the Ardlethan, Towong and Adelong cups.

“We’ve secured a really good jockey in Jake Duffy which is a great get for a meeting out there too.”

While his performance at Benalla last start wasn’t his best, Dale’s confident his star will put in a good showing.

“He just got a bit keen and overraced at Benalla,” he said.

“Hopefully we can get him to settle under that big weight although it’s a small field.

“If he can do that he’ll be competitive.”

Along with Copperfield, ADR will have runners at Leeton and Seymour across the weekend.

Leeton will be headlined by Wagunda in the Leeton Cup, while Seymour will see Brenlyn’s Trooper, Turnaquid and Rushford in action.
