Turnaquid continues to enrich her value as a $2,500 buy, notching back-to-back wins over the past two weeks.
After saluting in a 0-56 at Kyneton on January 1, she backed that up with a scintillating performance going up in class to a benchmark 62 at Wangaratta on Sunday.
The tough mare continues to reward a small but loyal ownership group with her prize money now just $1,600 off surpassing $200,000.
“She’s a mare that is incredibly tough and consistent,” Dale said.
“You know when she steps out on track that she’s going to be thereabouts – she’s finished top four in all of her past 11 starts.
“She seems to be getting better with age as well, she’s incredible.”
Incredibly, the six-year-old mare has already had 62 starts – a testament to her durability and toughness.
“She just seems to back-up well and enjoys racing,” Dale said.
“She’s a durable horse which makes her a fun horse to be involved with for the ownership group because she’s racing so often.”
Meanwhile, the AR team will be flat out this weekend with runners in action at Morphettville and Holbrook.
At Morphettville, Brenlyn’s Legacy will be looking to keep his four win streak alive in race three’s benchmark 72 over 1250m.
The three-year-old gelding has drawn a favourable gate three with familiar hoop Cory Parish to travel to Adelaide for the ride.
Currently a $14 outside chance, the son of Redente will need to get past $1.40 favourite Basset Babe who won by nearly seven lengths on debut.
“We couldn’t be happier with him,” Dale said.
“He had a little freshen up and then trialled beautifully at Albury last week – he looks like he’s matured a bit over the past 4-6 weeks.
“At $14 I definitely believe he’s over the odds – we wouldn’t take him to Adelaide if we didn’t think he could win.”
Also at Morphettville, San Marco will feature in race eight’s benchmark 62.
At Holbrook, eight runners will feature on the town’s cup day.
One of ADR’s country cups warhorses in Copperfield will be aiming for more silverware but will have to lug 63kgs from barrier six.
For the third start in a row, he will go head-to-head with Astunner who he beat at Tumbarumba but finished second to at Tumut.
Mojo Music will also run in the cup with his best more than good enough to challenge.
