Apprentice jockey Zoe Waller will join Andrew Dale Racing on a three-month loan from the Ciaron Maher stable in Ballarat, strengthening the Wangaratta-based team as the stable heads into a busy autumn racing period.

Waller has already enjoyed success with the stable, partnering Tuscan War to victory at Holbrook, and will now look to build further experience in the saddle while working closely with the Andrew Dale Racing team across the coming months.

Originally coming from a strong horse background, Waller spent many years involved in show jumping before transitioning into racing through the Victorian apprentice ranks. Her time riding within one of Australia’s leading racing operations at Ballarat has provided valuable exposure to a high-performance training environment.

Still early in her career, Waller has made a strong start in the saddle, riding 21 winners from 257 race rides, and will continue to build valuable race day experience across Victoria and southern New South Wales.

Trainer Andrew Dale said the loan arrangement comes at an ideal time for both the stable and the apprentice rider.

“Having Zoe join the team gives us good depth within the stable but also versatility with race day placements, particularly being able to utilise her 2kg apprentice claim,” Dale said.

“With a number of meetings coming up across the region throughout autumn, both TAB and non-TAB, there should be plenty of opportunities for Zoe to continue building her race riding experience.”

Waller’s arrival adds another dimension to the Andrew Dale Racing team as the stable prepares for a busy run of autumn racing.
