Andrew Dale Racing will take five runners to Albury Racing Club’s premier meeting.
Five Dale gallopers will step out on Albury Gold Cup Day, headlined by gelding Brenlyn’s Legacy in the $75,000 Flat Knacker (900m).
The three-year-old looks one of the chances in the open handicap having drawn a favourable gate six and getting some weight off his back (55kg).
“Brenlyn’s Legacy looks a genuine chance, he’s had a nice little let-up and looks primed for Friday,” Dale said.
“He won’t know himself with 55kgs, the lightest he’s ever carried is 58kgs so I’m expecting him to improve from his run at Morphetville.
“The trip should suit him as well – he will be given every chance to run a good race.”
The main threats look to be Donna Scott’s One Hard Lady and Ron Stubbs’ Sparring with the pair proven city-type gallopers.
“As you’d expect for a race on a premier day – it’s a strong field,” Dale said.
“I think One Hard Lady looks the horse to beat, she’s also got 55kgs and is a city winner.
“Sparring and Ticklebelly are also both city class horses so our boy is going to have to be at his best.
“It’s a tough race but it’s great for the Albury Racing Club to be attracting strong fields.”
Race five’s benchmark 58 (1175m) will be an intriguing race for the stable with Three Musketeers and Brenlyn’s Daisy to go head-to-head.
The pair have drawn gates one and four respectively.
“Bar his last run, Three Musketeers has been in good form this preparation and at his best can be very competitive in a race like this,” Dale said.
“He’s placed twice from three starts at Albury so hopefully returning to a track he enjoys can spark some improvement.
“For Brenlyn’s Daisy we’re just looking for a positive performance, she had a while out with injury so we’ll be patient with her.”
Parabellum (race two) and Densetsu (race three) will also feature throughout the card.
