ADR to assault Jack Maher Classic Day
- Andrew Dale Racing will attack Jack Maher Classic day at Wodonga tomorrow with eight runners making the trip up the Hume Highway. Three of those runners will make up half of the 2YO Jack Maher Classic field with Manalore, Oxburger and Hells Son all set to take their place. Dale rates Hells Son as his best chance to take out the coveted sprint after drawing barrier three with Jake Duffy in the saddle. The promising galloper drops down in class from his one and only run where he finished seven lengths behind the winner in the handy group three Chairman’s Stakes.
- Jack Maher Classic Day will also see the return of the much-loved Chairman’s Choice who will run in race eight (0-64 handicap) after a four week freshen up. The stunning grey will take a likening to the Wodonga track having won and placed there from five starts, while the soft going will only enhance his chances.
- More Importance (race five), Legal Zou (race seven) and Vanburg (race eight) will all fly the ADR flag at Wodonga throughout the card.
Five Wagga runners
- The busy Saturday will continue with five runners making the trip to Wagga. After being accepted in the field for the Jack Maher Classic, Malabar Queen will head to Wagga instead to contest the 1050m maiden. The stable opted for the Wagga race with the two-year-old filly looking better suited to win her maiden.
- Infiltrated will be looking for his second victory in race four (BM50), alongside stablemate Three Times Lucky, Garros will tackle race three (BM50, heat of Wagga Stayer Series) and Sheila will be searching for back-to-back victories in race six (Class 1).
Flying Artie filly available
- ADR has shares in a Flying Artie x Nishka yearling available for ownership. The stunning one-year-old filly was purchased by ADR for $10,000 at Inglis’ Classic Yearling Sale in February. The filly is close to heading to the breakers and is currently spelling at Mitchell Park. Flying Artie has had his best season to date as a stallion, racking up 64 winners from 145 starts. Sheila breaks maiden
- Four-year-old mare Sheila broke through for her maiden victory at Albury on May 12. Despite punters showing a liking to Ben Brisbourne’s horse Luvin’ Our Grace, Sheila put her rivals to the sword to win by nearly a length at a valuable $10.30 in the 1170m maiden. Hoop Billy Owen sat just off the pace before making his move on the turn to win from gate three. Sheila will be gunning for back-to-back victories when she takes her place in the Sports Bar Plus Class 1 Handicap at Wagga tomorrow.
Shooting For Stars wins for Clarken & O’Shea
- Former Andrew Dale trained three-year-old filly Shooting For Stars grabbed her third career victory and first for new trainers Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea at Balaclava on Wednesday. It was a convincing victory, saluting by two lengths at $5.50. The handy filly showed plenty of promise in her early days at ADR but broke through for her first win for her new stable seven months after her last for Dale.
Season thus far
- ADR is having its best season yet with 38 winners from 360 starts coming in the 2022/23 season. This season tops the last which raked in 36 wins from 402 runners. ADR will be looking to finish the season well with two months left.
