Six-year-old gelding Heimberg returned to the winner’s stall for the second time in his career claiming the Class 1 Handicap (1400m) at Albury yesterday.

Brodie Loy has now won on Heimberg twice after guiding him to his maiden victory at Goulburn 15 months ago.

Heimberg held off a fast finishing Pay the Deeler and Kitty Karine after settling second in the early stages of the race.

“He bounced well out of the gates, travelled beautiful and was really tough to the line,” jockey Loy said.

“I had a good opinion of him early days, it’s nice to see him going on with it

“He’s going to give connections a lot of fun.”

Heimberg is by stallion Rip Van Winkle from the mare Prafaore.

Prafaore is the mother of Group One performers Ball Of Muscle and Terravista.

Three-year-old gelding Mojo Music was narrowly defeated in the Class 1 Handicap (1000m).
