ANDREW Dale Racing will feature under the bright lights of Cranbourne tonight with five runners stepping up.
Confessed, Mojo Music, Sheila, Eamonn’s Memory and the stable’s best chance in Shooting For Stars will all try their hand at the meeting.
“All runners have been running reasonably well at country meetings so we think they all deserve to have a go up a grade,” Dale said.
“It’s exciting to have five runners running under the lights at Cranbourne on a Friday night.”
Confessed and Mojo Music will kick the night off in race six’s benchmark 64 (1400m) from gates 10 and 11 respectively.
“For Confessed this run is just about getting her ready to run in the Queen of the South during the Wagga Gold Cup Carnival,” Dale said.
“For Mojo (Music), we would’ve liked to had drawn a bit better but we’ve always been keen to give him a go at the 1400m.
“We still think from his gate he’ll get a decent run and we think the smaller straight at Cranbourne will suit him well.
“He goes up in the weights (63kg, 3kg claimed) but we’ll claim 3kg with Brittany Button to ride.”
In race seven’s fillies and mares benchmark 64 (1000m) Sheila (barrier 9) and Shooting For Stars (barrier 3) will feature.
Shooting For Stars looks a live chance at $8 and will be steered by Cory Parish.
“Shooting For Stars is probably the best of the runners down there, especially after drawing a nice barrier,” Dale said.
“She’s racing well and I reckon she’s a nice each-way chance, she’s got 61.5kg on her but that’s the grade she’s racing in.
“Sheila’s a bit of a throw at the stumps.”
And finally, to finish the night off Eamonn’s Memory will have a crack at race eight’s benchmark 64 (1200m) from gate 13.
The galloper has been in nice touch of late, winning a 0-58 handicap at Benalla two starts ago and followed that up with a second place finish in a benchmark 58 at Benalla last start.
“Eamonn’s Memory has drawn a bit sticky,” Dale said.
“He’s been racing well though and has earnt having a go at this level.”
Race one at Cranbourne will run at 5:15pm.
