ADR hasn’t had much luck with barrier draws at Wangaratta’s transferred meeting on Tuesday but the stable is looking forward to racing at home.
The meeting has been transferred from Kyneton to Wangaratta due to the Kyneton jockey rooms currently undergoing a significant upgrade.
Seven runners look set to run at home with only two of those drawing single figure barriers, Mescaminto (5) and Brenlyn’s Trooper (5).
Bellman (18), Deploy and Destroy (16), Turnaquid (13), Hells Son (14) and Chairman’s Choice (10) will all jump wide but Dale is still confident his horses can run strong races.
“We haven’t had much luck with gates at Wangaratta but that’s racing,” Dale said.
“The advantage of Wangaratta is that it’s a wider track so all horses will have a chance to balance up which is different to drawing poorly at smaller tracks,” Dale said.
“The racing patterns of some of our runners should mean the wide gates aren’t too much of a problem so I’m not too concerned.
“I think we head there with a few each way chances.”
With spring well and truly here, things will only get busier with a number of targeted meetings approaching.
The stable will look at meetings at Albury (October 12) and Seymour (October 13), while Caulfield Cup Day races at Wodonga and Bendigo may also be on the cards.
After a third place finish at Benalla in heat one of the MCCC Country Series last weekend, Eamonn’s Memory is being aimed at heat four of the series at Seymour on the 13th.
The top two place getters from each heat will feature in the $500,000 final at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day.
Meanwhile, a number of horses are doing well in the paddock, soaking up plenty of spring sunshine.
The likes of Mojo Music and Three Musketeers are doing well, while juveniles Jingu Express, All Too Hard x Desert Realm and Anders x Soleil Brulant are all in nice shape.
