It will be a bumper Saturday for ADR with a strong team of horses running across Towong and Corowa for their cup meetings.
At Towong, eight runners will be in action, headlined by Copperfield and Eamonn’s Memory in the Cup, while Kiss The Bride, Sheila and Can Do Canto will run at Corowa.
ADR will be looking to secure the Towong Cup for the second time after Little Red Devil saluted in 2016’s edition.
For Eamonn’s Memory, he comes into the race third up after decent runs at Moonee Valley and Wangaratta.
“I think we’ve got a couple of chances in the Towong Cup,” Dale said.
“We’re stretching Eamonn’s Memory out to 1600m for the first time in a couple of preps because the options are limited at that 75 rating.
“He’s better weighted in a Cup race as opposed to a progressive 68-70 type grade.
“We’re hoping he’ll run well at the mile and that could open up a few more doors for him.”
Copperfield looks one of the main threats in the Cup after back-to-back second place finishes in the Holbrook Cup and at Albury.
The seven-year-old gelding drops some handy weight after running with 64.5kg at Albury last start, now dropping to 57.5kg today.
“Copperfield drops seven kilograms from his last start with a quality jockey in Jake Duffy booked to ride,” Dale said.
“He’s drawn a nice barrier (3) in a small field so I’d say he’d be one of the better chances.
“Gerald Egan’s (Euphemia) would have to be the one to beat off the back of a win at Moonee Valley.”
Race three could provide an ADR winner too with three runners to contest the benchmark 52 (940m), two of those coming off last start victories.
Both Rockbarton Shout and Majestic Ines saluted in their last runs, while Vonk will also feature.
In race five’s benchmark 58 (1200m), Hells Son and Bellman will both try their luck.
Hells Son comes into the race off a freshen up and draws an ideal gate two, while Bellman returns to the races after a positive trial at Wangaratta.
Meanwhile, at Corowa Kiss The Bride will contest the Corowa Cup, while Sheila and Can Do Canto will run in race five’s benchmark 66 (1000m).
