Andrew Dale Racing will have seven gallopers vying to pinch a special win at the stable’s home cup meeting.
With plenty of prizemoney on offer, gallopers from all over the state will dawn on the prisitine Wangaratta Turf Club facilities making a win to ADR all the more special.
While the stable won’t have a runner in the cup, ADR looks to have a couple of genuine chances throughout the card.
ADR’s campaign kicks off in race two with Speed Of Gold who will need to improve.
He will then be followed by one of the stable’s best chances of the day when Three Musketeers steps out in race four’s benchmark 70 (1300m), supported by Jingu Express.
Three Musketeers has pencilled back-to-back second place finishes in his last two starts and looks primed from barrier one with gun hoop Lachlan King in the saddle.
“After a strong last prep, Three Musketeers has returned in good order and has been racing well without pinching a win yet,” Dale said.
“His last two starts have been terrific and while he jumps up in class (BM66 to BM70) he gets down in the weights and has drawn a good gate.
“The draw gives us some flexibility on how Lachie rides him but I would say we’ll settle midfield and hopefully get a nice run into the race.”
In race five’s benchmark 70 (1590m) stable star Copperfield has drawn a sticky barrier 11 but is on his home track at a distance he’s won four times at.
Race seven’s benchmark 62 will see Parabellum in action but has drawn a wide gate 16.
The day’s final race, a benchmark 66 over 1170m will see the in form Turnaquid gunning for a trifecta of victories.
The consistent mare will be given every chance after drawing barrier 15, getting down in the weights (57kg) and having star hoop Jake Duffy in the saddle.
“I can’t fault her, she’s ready to go,” Dale said.
“She won at Wangaratta last start so she’s every chance to do it again, it’s a track and distance she likes.
“As usual, she’ll no doubt get back and we’ll be looking for that trademark flashing finish.”
Brenlyn’s Daisy will also be an interesting watch in that same race with the five-year-old mare running the second start of her preparation after a lengthy stint on the sidelines with injury.
Mark Of Zorro will also feature in race eight.
