The next task awaits the hot Eamonn’s Memory who will be searching for three wins in a row when he features at Morphettville tomorrow.
The five-year-old gelding has been in scintillating form winning three of his past five starts which has seen his rating spike to 70, giving him the opportunity to run in race three’s Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap (1250m) from gate one with group one winning hoop Todd Pannell to ride.
It will be the first of a few runs the galloper will have in South Australia and Andrew Dale can’t wait to see what his stable star can do.
“With his rating being 70 we had the option to take him to a midweek race in Melbourne or head over to South Australia and we felt he was better placed there,” Dale said.
“He’s reasonably well weighted at 58kg given he’s the third highest rated in the race so hopefully he goes well.
“It’s also great to get a jockey like Todd on board, he’s one of the top riders over there so he was reluctant to take the ride before he was able to have a look at the form and things but in the end he was happy to commit.”
From gate one Eamonn’s Memory should get a nice run in transit.
“I’d say from gate one we should end up in a nice position, maybe three back the fence,” Dale said.
“He hasn’t run since his win at Wangaratta on May 16 so he’s nice and fresh which he probably needs to be at the 1250m.
“He travelled over with the Penola crew and Justin Pickering, a young trainer at Murray Bridge is looking after him.”
