Magic Millions purchase Forgotten Spirit is in the midst of preparing for a possible run on January’s Magic Millions Classic Day.
The Spirit of Boom filly is currently on the Gold Coast under the care of Morissey Racing and has had a jump out and an official trial where her speed has immediately impressed.
While she still looks green and has missed the kick in both of those jump outs, there is still two months to rectify the issues but on first glance, Dale said she looks to have ability.
“There’s no doubt she’s got some speed,” Dale said.
“Right from when we got her after Adrian Corboy broke her in his feedback was really positive and our trackwork riders reinforced that opinion that she may have above average ability.”
After Forgotten Spirit will jump out at the Gold Coast again on Wednesday before a decision will be made on whether she’ll debut or be sent to the paddock for a let-up.
“We need to try and iron out those little barrier manners issues, so she’ll have another jump out on Wednesday to try and work on that,” Dale said.
“From there a decision will be made with the ownership group and the Morissey Racing team to decide what the next move will be.
“If all goes to plan on Wednesday she may debut or they might put her away for a quick let up before coming back and getting ready for a possible run on that Magic Millions Day.”
Forgotten Spirit (Spirit of Boom x Never Forget) was purchased for $100,000 at the 2024 Magic Millions.
