Wodonga review

  • ADR came through with the goods at the first meeting of the 2023/24 season with two winners at Wodonga.
  • Garros recorded his 10th career win in race five (0-58 over 2050m) at a valuable $14. The nine-year-old gelding settled in a great position from gate two before just edging out Think More at the post. The win takes him over $210,000 in prize money.
  • Mescaminto was super in race seven (0-58 over 1300m) chasing down Mahjing to win by a nose, justifying her $3.50 favouritism. The six-year-old mare has been banging the door down after back-to-back placings prior to her fourth career win.
  • It was nearly three winners after Anthemic ran second, a nose behind the winner from a sticky gate in barrier seven. The son of Tavistock is in great form this prep having won at Leeton and finished fourth at Wagga on July 15.
  • Jahbath was also solid with a sixth placed finish just two and a half lengths off the winner.

Kerang preview

  • The team will head to Kerang on Saturday with five gallopers set to take their place.
  • Jahbath and Garros will kick off proceedings in race five’s 0-58 (1800m). As mentioned, both runners are in strong form with Jahbath coming off a strong run at Wodonga, while Garros is a last start winner.
  • Anthemic has been accepted into race six (colts and geldings 0-58 over 1100m). The Good 4 surface may raise some doubt for Anthemic, while Eamonn’s Memory is an emergency and will run first-up coming off back-to-back jump out wins if he gets a start.
  • Turnaquid will jump from gate six in race seven’s fillies and mares 0-58 (over 1100m). The four-year-old mare has been running well this prep and with both of her career wins coming on good tracks, she looks a strong chance.

Wagga preview

  • Brenlyn’s Trooper and Chairman’s Choice head to Wagga on Sunday.
  • Both have been accepted into race four’s open handicap the Wagga Whiz (1000m). Brenlyn’s Trooper looks a strong chance from a nice barrier in gate two. After a solid first-up run at Corowa which saw him finish just over two lengths off the winner, don’t count the new addition out.

Inglis Classic Yearling Sale purchases gearing up

  • ADR’s Inglis Classic Sale purchases Flying Artie x Nishka and Magna Grecia x Hamiko are gearing up for their first preps to begin this week. The stable is stoked with what both purchases have brought to the table during their pre-training.

ADR purchases tried gallopers

  • ADR has purchased three horses from this week’s Inglis Digital Sale.
  • Dangers, Wagunda and Rodeo Legend will all join the stable in a bid to find their best form.
