Andrew Dale trained Malabar Jack and Wynsome Maid both secured the fifth wins of their careers at Narrandera on Saturday.

Apprentice jockey Coriah Keatings first guided Malabar Jack to a comfortable two length victory in the Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200) before Wynsome Maid with Billy Owen on board, flew down the outside to nab the win just before the line in the Benchmark 50 Handicap (1400m).

With the victories the stable has had at least one winner at the last three Narrandera meetings.

“It was good to get a double on Monday after a frustrating few weeks with the weather,” racing manager Frazer Dale said.

“Malabar Jack has shown he relishes the heavy conditions and Coriah did another good job steering him to a second win.”

“The track improved as the day went on which suited Wynsome Maid and Billy Owen, who rode the mare to her last win at Berrigan in August was again able to get the best out of her.”

The day started with Turnaquid collecting her first placing running third in the Maiden Plate (1200m) while Shadow Colour also finished third in the second Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m).
