Week ahead
Towong
– It promised to be a busy day at the Towong Cup on Saturday with eight runners in action.
In the Towong Cup, Eamonn’s Memory and Copperfield both look like chances but will have to get past Gerald Egan’s Euphemia.
– Race three’s benchmark 58 (1200m) will see three ADR gallopers saddled up, two of those being last start winners. Rockbarton Shout and Majestic Ines will be gunning for back-to-back wins, while Vonk will also feature.
– In race five’s benchmark 58, Hells Son and Bellman will both feature. Hells Son comes into the race off a freshen up and draws an ideal gate two, while Bellman returns to the races after a positive trial at Wangaratta.
Corowa
– Three runners will take on Corowa for their cup meeting.
– Kiss The Bride will run in the day’s feature event, the Corowa Cup.
– Sheila and Can Do Canto will take on race five’s benchmark 66 (1000m).
Trials
– Five horses trialled at Wangaratta on Tuesday.
– As mentioned, Bellman was strong in heat four, finishing ahead of stable mates Parabellum and Brenlyn’s Trooper.
– Vonk won his trial and looks primed for his race at Towong.
– Hells Son finished second in heat seven in positive signs.
Profiteer x Perlant colt
– Our Profiteer x Perlant colt is being broken in by the well-renowned Adrian Corboy. Adrian said she’s making excellent progress and looks to be a bargain buy in the early stages of her development. Shares are still available.
Upcoming meetings
– The stable will be looking to attend meetings at Wagga on Thursday and potentially Alexandra next Saturday.
Best of the weekend
BEST: Copperfield EW (Towong race 6). Copperfield has drawn an ideal gate three and comes into the Towong Cup off the back of a strong past two runs. He drops 7kg from his last start second at Albury and gets an in-form hoop onboard in Jake Duffy.
Strong watch: Hells Son (Towong race 5). Hells Son trialled beautifully at Wangaratta on Tuesday off the back of a freshen up. He comes back in trip to a sprinting distance and will be looking for sharp improvement.
