Week review
– Whilst it was a relatively quiet week for the stable, it still brought a winner.
– Rushford added some silverware to his CV at the ripe age of nine, taking home the Alexandra Cup. Star hoop Shaun Cooper guided him to a near-length win.
Week ahead
– It will be a massive Saturday for ADR with substantial teams featuring at Narrandera’s Ardlethan Picnic Cup meeting, as well as race days at Berrigan and Benalla.
– With rain hitting the region throughout the week, it will be interesting to see how tracks will race.
Berrigan
– ADR staff will be flat out at Berrigan with a huge team in action.
– Last start winner Hells Son will run in race one’s benchmark 58 (1100m), along with Miss Beautiful and Brenlyn’s Trooper.
– Jingu Express will tackle race two’s maiden (1200m) from a sticky gate 13.
– New addition Matter Most will be out to break her maiden in race four (1400m). The four-year-old mare crosses from Peter Gelagotis’ stable.
– Bellman and Wagunda look like dangers in race five’s benchmark 58 (1400m).
– Kisimul Trust will run in race six’s benchmark 50 (1600m).
Benalla
– Rushford will be looking to continue his Alexandra Cup winning form in race six’s 0-58 (1406m).
– In race seven’s 0-58 (1206m) Turnaquid drew barrier 13 but given her racing pattern the draw shouldn’t worry her.
Narrandera
– Seven runners will feature at Narrandera.
– Vonk and Crimosa take on race one’s picnic trophy (1000m).
– Can Do Canto will look to continue her strong form in race three’s class 3 (1200m).
– In the Ardlethan Cup, Copperfield will be eyeing off back-to-back cup wins after his efforts at Towong, while Parabellum will also feature.
– Manalore will round the day out at Narrandera in race six’s class one (1600m).
Jump outs
– Five gallopers had jump outs at Wangaratta.
– ADR got its first look at 2024 Inglis Classic Sale purchases Tuscan War (Anders x Soleil Brulant) and Dubai Fountain (All Too Hard x Desert Realm) with the pair both getting invaluable education.
– Two-year-old gelding Brenlyn’s Legacy also ran the first jump out of his career.
– New addition Calm Buckle featured in heat three.
– Shooting For Stars ran in heat five.
Youngsters
– Forgotten Spirit is back in Wangaratta and will spell for a good three to four months before gearing up for another crack at the Magic Millions Carnival.
– Spirit Of Boom x My Girl Rocks, North Pacific x Never Forget and Profiteer x Perlant have all been broken in and are spelling ahead of their next preps.
– Per Incanto x Eagle Beaver is nearly finished her spell.
BEST OF THE WEEKEND
– Hells Son looks one of the leading chances in race one at Berrigan on Saturday after a last start win at Towong. The Berrigan meeting is non-TAB so you will have to be on-course to back him.
