The eight-hour round trip from Wangaratta to Donald has proved worthwhile for Andrew Dale with Volere returning to the winners circle today.
It was the four-year-old’s first win since July last year when she broke her maiden at Wangaratta.
“She’s been a work in progress since joining our stable and we have had to travel a long way today so it’s nice to get a result,” Andrew Dale said.
Volere joined Andrew Dale Racing from the Craig Widdson stable in May.
Today’s reverse ballot meeting at Donald gives horses the opportunity to gain starts that have low benchmark ratings by flipping the ballot order.
“We have missed out on starts with this mare due to her low rating, but I think she’s better than what her ratings suggest,” Dale added.
“This is a good boost in confidence and we may see her win one or two more this prep.”
